Colorado Women's Bar Association Foundation

HISTORY
In 1988, through the efforts of long-time member Jan Bernstein, the Colorado Women’s Bar Association established a non-profit 501©(6) charitable corporation.

The corporation was named “The Jennifer Robbins Fund” in memory of a lawyer who was an activist against poverty, devoted considerable energy to mental health programs, and fought for equal civil rights for women and minorities. Her untimely death in 1987 from cancer motivated those who loved her to perpetuate her name and her goals. The name was later changed to the Colorado Women’s Bar Association Foundation (the “CWBA Foundation”) and became a 501©(3) charitable corporation.

MISSION AND PURPOSE
The CWBA Foundation’s mission and purpose is to promote the advancement of women in the law, and to protect and promote the welfare of all women. Often, the CWBA Foundation works in conjunction with the Colorado Women’s Bar Association (CWBA) to implement the CWBA’s charitable and educational work. The two organizations are closely linked and share the same goals.
