Displaced Homemaker Scholarship through KEYS
The KEYS program provides support and services to displaced homemakers who have lost their source of economic support due to divorce, separation, widowhood, or ineligibility for other public assistance (Other circumstance/criteria will be evaluated on a case by case basis). KEYS empowers displaced homemakers through education and employment services, to support entry or re-entry into the workforce.
Services include:
• Pathway selection and career exploration as needed
• Career planning and coaching
• Education and training scholarships
• Additional funding to support books or course required supplies
• Personalized financial coaching
• Job search and placement coaching
ELIGIBILITY:
• Has provided unpaid household services for family members in the home for a substantial number of years:
• Is not gainfully or meaningfully employed.
• Has had, or would have, difficulty finding employment; and
• Is dependent on the income of a family member and has lost that income
• OR is dependent on government assistance as the parent of dependent children, but is no longer eligible for assistance
• OR will soon exhaust the assistance because the minor children are within two (2) years of reaching age eighteen (18)
• Participant must maintain a 2.0 G.P.A. or higher. Academic record will be verified
Priority Application Deadlines: Deadlines vary semester by semester due to scholarship demand but are consistent with CCD’s census date. All applications received after the census date will be evaluated for the following semester

- A displaced homemaker is an individual who provided unpaid services to family members in the family home (for example- stay at home mom or dad, or care for a family member), and is unemployed or underemployed, and who is no longer financially supported by outside resources. CCD provides support for these students and community members to achieve education and employment goals, and begin their career. Are you eligible for possible funding to assist with your career goal?
